The Center for Research and Education in Technology


To develop a research program for the scientific evaluation of new technologies and an educational program to produce a new generation of competent and qualified graduates in entrepreneurship, management and technology transfer as well as clinical dentistry for academia and industry.

CRET is dedicated to:

  • Developing research and educational programs that promote discovery, innovation and the commercialization of new dental, oral and craniofacial technologies and products

  • Providing scientists and oral health professionals with resources to conduct research and development in technology evaluation

  • Playing a major role in the national effort to develop and deploy the next generation of technologies to dental schools

  • Examining academic needs in research, education, and commerce and assist in developing policies and programs to meet these needs

  • Overcoming existing barriers to the introduction of new and innovative technologies into the dental market


The Center for Research and Education in Technology, CRET, will be divided into three components:
